The RINJ Foundation  has just made some very strong statements about what has been happening in Canada in recent years.  The organization has now declared that Canada has a rape culture. That is serious.

In 2010 The RINJ Foundation in its early days protested the publishing of pictures of a rape that took place in Pitt Meadows, BC. Lobbying hard to get witnesses to the “Rave Rape” to come forward, but it seemed pointless as the Crown Prosecutors favoured inaction.

At the same time The RINJ Foundation tried to lobby for a good prosecution result, the RCMP was having its own problems.  Not just allegations of police abuse and violence against young aboriginal women in northern B.C. but also allegations of  raping its own female members have dogged the RCMP underground and only seldom do these stories come to the surface, so well are they suppressed.

In 2011 The RINJ Foundation  fought with numerous large, blue-chip advertisers who placed ads on Facebook’s pro-rape pages including pages promoting rape drugs. It was so hard to get companies like Future Shop, the Royal Bank and The Toronto Dominion Bank to pull their ads from Facebook pages promoting the rape of children and women and the use of rape drugs. Yes it was very hard work. Some advertisers like Blackberry pulled their ads pronto. Others were spammed and threatened with public demonstrations and boycotts before they finally pulled their ads meanwhile after much todo Facebook pulled their Rape Pages  in early November 2011

You don’t know the many stories of rape victims who are bullied and eventually kill themselves until the media becomes interested. Amanda Todd and the Rehtaeh Parsons cases you likely know about. Nobody every gets charged but kids and adults are being raped all the time. The RINJ Foundation says, “Yes, Canada Has A Rape Culture”.

You have a problem, Canada.

Get angry, somebody! Do something! Write your MP! Don’t let this lie down.

Yes, tell them about another ‘gang rape’ that caused another precious girl’s suicide after a photo of the incident went viral online and nobody did a thing to help.

Yes they bullied her with a photo that shows a rapist smiling as he is sexing Rehtaeh while she drunkenly vomits out of a window.

Police investigated but did not press charges because among the 78% male police officers in Canada this kind of behaviour was was many of theirs when they were boys.

Yes, Canada, your police don’t arrest and your courts do not punish rapists.

Yes, Canada, you have a problem.
